DXC Technology Unveils AdvisoryX to Accelerate AI Adoption

DXC Technology has launched AdvisoryX, a new consulting group to help companies implement and get the most value from using AI.

AdvisoryX is part of DXC’s initiative to assist customers in accelerating AI adoption, managing risk, and delivering sustainable value across the enterprise. The Ashburn, VA-based technology services provider has developed five integrated solutions spanning the AI lifecycle:

  • AI Core: Foundations for enterprise-grade AI, including data, modeling, governance and platform architecture.
  • AI Reinvent: Proven industry use cases across human-assisted, semi-autonomous and autonomous operating models.
  • AI Interact: Redesigned workflows and natural interfaces that enable seamless collaboration between people and AI.
  • AI Validate: Continuous testing, observability and governance to ensure accuracy, quality and safety.
  • AI Manage: Production operations and lifecycle management for evolving models and infrastructure.

Pete McEvoy, who previously led DXC’s global data and analytics group, is the global head of AdvisoryX.

“Our research, as well as many other studies, indicates a significant gap between expectation and reality [around AI],” McEvoy said in an interview. “We believe that gap can be filled in concert with the rest of our services through an advisory offering. So we've decided to recalibrate our consulting group into Advisory X and launch that service. It’s an end-to-end restructuring of our consulting business.”

McEvoy said there are several areas where AdvisoryX can help companies with their AI plans.

“One is the technology – it’s still evolving,” he said. “It's extremely volatile. So there's a technical piece of this. There's a talent piece—it's very difficult to find, acquire, and retain folks that are highly versed in this. And the final piece, we think, is more of a strategic piece where our clients are looking at how to automate pieces of what they do, rather than asking questions like, ‘How can I do this dramatically differently with this new technology?’

He noted that customers have concerns about privacy and risk when using AI, and AdvisoryX will take a holistic approach to address these issues.

“That's one reason we see ourselves as unique in the market,” McEvoy said. “With the addition of AdvisoryX, we now have everything from strategy to managed infrastructure. So if you pick any problem across that continuum, we have a solution for it, and now we have a glue to sort of help anticipate and solve those problems along the way for our clients.”
